Now that the season is over with a good overview of pullers and tractors, It would be nice to have a rules meeting to see if updates on tractors and classes. My input would be to allow aluminum wheels in some classes. As there is no limit of HP in any class put a HP limit or an open class to a maximum HP of 25HP?? in the fast classes. As the pullers are the ones on center stage for spectators this would make for a more colorful show. Just my 2 cents worth. See you next year.

Ive got more questions than a first grader. First, 23" rear tires. Is that for all classes? Some of your bigger garden if not most of your true garden tractors came out with larger tires than 23". Second, what about modified wheel base or repositioned rear end? Is this legal? All I see in the rules is about dropping the front end. I'm new to this so please be patient with me. I'm wanting to start building something to pull with but I like the bigger garden tractors and most of the ones I find are hydrostat and the stock tires are to big. I'd like to pull my ole cub but if I have to drop the rear tire size then it's going to have it's nose in the air so then I have to drop the front tire size then it's going to be goofy lookin. Ok, last thing. I've had several people tell me i can't pull with a hydro. Is it harder to get taken off without a full throttle start? I'm not to worried about braking anything. This ole 1872 can take it. I can pull a hitch pin straight through a stock cub hitch without brakin a sweat and shove old pickups around like they were made of plastic.
Ok I'm startin to brag. But it does good for still having a deck on it and mowed with every week. One last thing what about leaving the deck on? does this mess with the wait transfer? Any help would be appreciated. P.S. I live in Kidder so if anyone would like to get togeather and give me some pointers that would be great!

Rule number 10 sates: Single engine tractors only, 1 or 2 cylinder engines only. Two wheel drive tractors only. No locked Differentials.
In Amazonia this past weekend I over heard more than one person talking about welding up thier diffs. Is rule #10 a rule the club is going to stand by? or come next summer will this portion of the rule be thrown out the window?

As many of you know I pull Cub Cadets. Since we are limited to speed, it is always nice to know what speed our tractors are capable of doing. As we have found out the owner’s manuals are not completely correct when it comes to the working speeds of a Cub Cadet. So I came up with an Excel spreadsheet to show what speeds are possible with OEM gears.
Note: These speeds are not correct for the belt drive Cub Cadets such as the Originals. These speeds are correct for any Cub Cadet’s produced with the shaft drive cast iron transaxles before MTD purchased Cub Cadet in 1984 (I believe that’s the right date). Cub Cadets were manufactured with one standard 1st speed gear (13 tooth) which has a possible speed of 2.83 mph. There are three possible 2nd speed gears... 16, 17 or 19 tooth. A 16 tooth second has a speed of 3.78 mph, the 17 tooth second has a speed of 4.13 and the 19 tooth has a speed of 4.89. The third gear is a 26 tooth gear with a possible speed of 8.50 mph (Speed calculated by a 23" tire and engine rpm of 4000.) Cub Cadet also offered as an accessory, a Creeper gear that would split the speed by 2. So for example if you had a tractor with a creeper you could pull it in 3rd gear with the creeper engaged and run a speed of 4.25 mph. This speed would be like having an 18 tooth second gear.

Saturday at Amazonia the hook fee was charged at $7.00. Yet the rules on-line still say $6.00. After about half of the pullers signed up Ron announced something about it, what he said I'm not for sure... In the future is the hook fee going to be $7.00 or $6.00?
If its raised to $7.00 what is the reason for doing so? I could understand if fuel was $4.00, like last summer, but its not.

I have several lawn mowers out back that i have been parting out . I have two different 18hp murray body fenders,hoods,and gas tanks.I also have a ford LT 12 that has a 12hp briggs and stratton in it. It has no fender damage just a little paint peel with a blown rear end and two fairly new tires on the back of it. I got the motor two work but it needs a little carberator ajustment and a new celanoid. It could easily be restored but i am advertising it as a parts tractor. I am looking for about $100.00 for it . I also have a John Deere 110 with a blown motor if you need parts off of one . It also has good fenders and other parts. Just ask me about it if your interested in it. I might consider another price or trade of something for any of the parts i have for sale. I live in Cameron missouri and my cell phone number is (816-284-9103).

Wet Paint has a built in Photo Gallery. It has gotten much better over the past year. It has slide show capabilities and is easily accessible from the top tool bar on all pages. One of the disadvantages is there is no way to divide the photos into folders. However, by creating Albums I can set up an album for each pull. That way if you click on photos, then click albums and then click on the album you want to see you are only looking at the picture from that pull. From there you can view a slide show of the picture if you wish. I am considering phasing out the photo pages within the web pages and using the built-in Photos and Videos. I will keep 3 or 4 special pages - 1. Pulling Tracks 2. Memories 3. Special Moments 4. ?? You can also download picture directly from Wet Paint Photos so this would save me posting pictures on the server (orbits). You first have to double click the photo you want to enlarge and the right click and save as. It you right click and save as without enlarging first yo will get a thumbnail

Can the rules page on the web site be in a text format? Currently the picture format is hard to make printouts. I like having a copy in hand at pulls and in my shop just incase a question arises.

Are you guys going to open up the rules to allow more tractors to hook in this pull? Or maybe run two sleds. My son pulls with Tri-County and we did a two sled pull last year with you guys. Everything seemed to work out ok.

I like the graphs that are outlining the tractors, hooks per class, etc. You will be using this later 2009 for some possible adjustments to the classes.

CONGRATS TO LARRY ON THE IMPROVEMENTS TO THE SLED, IT MADE THINGS ALOT EASIER. THE ONLY THING WE SEE WRONG WITH IT IS THE SLOW SPEED LIMIT. DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MANY PULLERS SET OFF THE ALARM? I AM NOT SURE BUT THERE WERE SEVERAL. RUMOR HAS IT THAT THE SPEED LIMIT WILL NOT GO UP. IS THE REASON BEHIND THIS TO MAKE THE DAY LONGER OR TO MAKE THE TRACTORS RUN AT HALF THROTTLE? 95% OF THE CUBS HAVE THE SAME GEAR RATIO. SOME HAVE 1 CYL., SOME HAVE 2, MY THEORY IS THAT THESE ENGINES MAY RUN DIFFERENT RPM'S TO CREATE THE PROPER HORSEPOWER. JUST MAYBE ??? TO GET TO THE POINT, THE PAST FEW YEARS THE SPEED LIMIT WAS GREAT,NOT TO FAST, NOT TO SLOW. I HAVE BEEN TALKING TO SOME OF THE OTHER PULLERS AND NOBODY LIKES THE NEW SPEED LIMIT, AND SAY THEY WILL NOT PULL THEIR TRACTORS AT HALF OR THREE QUARTER THROTTLE. SOME CANNOT PULL AT A LOWER RPM OR A LOWER GEAR. I WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE PULLING WITH THE BUCKET BRIGADE BUT I WILL NOT PULL MY TRACTOR AT A LOWER RPM TO ACCOMIDATE A LESSER TRACTOR. SEVERAL OTHERS FEEL THE SAME. SO PLEASE PUT THE SPEED LIMIT BACK TO WHERE IT WAS. WHAT DID IT HURT? WE REALLY DONT WANT TO PULL WITH THE HIAWATHA PULLERS !!! WITHOUT YOUR MEMBERS LIKE US THERE WOULDNT BE A "BUCKET BRIGADE".

Would like to see some class that would be upgraded from the stock. For improvements from the present for next year 2009 it would present my suggestion would be the Aluminum wheels and limited to 4000 Rpm with a V-Twin class. V-Twins are upcoming engine for the future. You can still have the single cylinders as the true pure stock class. Yes, the V-twins would also be limited to 4000 Rpm. You could program a higher ground speed which will still be limited for the safety factor. thks for listening.

I have a 1968 Ford 100, 10 hp Kohler engine, belt drive, 3 speed rear with granny low (4 total gears). Has custom wheelie bars. I believe it weights in the 540's range. Asking $300.00
It was purchased as a winter project, last fall. It is in perfect condition for its age. The previous owners pulled it in the 1000lb class, group out of Iowa. I have all the weights that came with it, there are 160 lbs give or take. I'm asking $1.00 a pound. If anyone wants it I can bring it to the Amazonia Tractor Pull, June 14.
